Gawd! You are getting me worried. I am so very sure that I am going to be in for a huge shock when I get back to SG. I have to agree that all my friends tell me that nothing in SG has changed. But in actually fact, SG is progressing at a shocking pace. From all that I have seen from your entry, things in SG are no longer cheap. And I suppose cabs can no longer be an everyday commodity. Buses and trains as well? Sigh. Juz have to top up my Ezlink on a half-weekily basis.
Well, depending on how much you top up each time, you might have to top up $10 every two days!
I think the point I was trying to get across is that a lot of people living in Singapore don't realise this place is changing at such a fast pace because all of them don't realise how fast this place is changing. So that's why don't see the changes taking place. Only when you step outside this environment and look from an outsider's perspective, then you realise how many things are changing, socially and environmentally.
But I'm sure you'll manage. We all do...adaptability's a trait of any Singapore ain't it? Just might take a while. I'm trying to get used to it (and not be depressed along the way).
